Minister for Power G-B Mushtaq Husain slams central government for its indifferent attitude

Mushtaq Hussain, Minister for Power, Gilgit-Baltistan

Gilgit (PR) Minister for power G-B Mushtaq Hussain has demanded the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s government in the center to stop treating Gilgit-Baltistan like a stepmother.

In a statement issued to the media, Mushtaq Hussain said ever since the imported government has been implemented by the federal government, wheat, electricity, and financial crises have been deliberately created in GB.

He has stated that all the PSDP projects of Gilgit-Baltistan have been stopped. Similarly, the federal government is not releasing funds for development projects.

Contrary to the present federal government, PTI undertook record development work in Gilgit-Baltistan during its tenure at the center, said the statement.

He has further stated that during the PTI rule in the center, more than one billion development projects were approved in each constituency to provide employment opportunities.

In his statement, he says that due to the non-availability of funds, like all the departments of GB, the condition of the power sector is also deteriorating.

According to the minister for power G-B, several electric transformers are not in order throughout GB. Similarly, the machinery of many powerhouses is also not in order. Similarly, the contractor community is facing difficulties due to the non-availability of funds and procurement.

Mushtaq Hussain further says that after coming to power, the PTI government advertised posts in various departments to give employment to people. This move has not been digested by the defeated elements in GB politics who have taken the bet through the courts.

He has expressed hope that Gilgit-Baltistan will be on the path of development soon after Imran Khan becomes the Prime Minister of Pakistan once again.
