ISLAMABAD (PR): Chief minister Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Khalid Khurshid and Federal secretary finance Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh held an important meeting in connection with non-supply of funds to Gilgit-Baltistan and wheat crisis.
Provincial minister for planning, development and information Fataullah Khan and finance minister Javed Manwa were also present in the meeting.
 According to Fataullah Khan, chief minister G-B Khalid Khurshid said the federal government is responsible for the wheat crises. Similarly, development projects have come to a halt due to unavailability of funds. On the contrary, the federal government has increased funds for other provinces. The PDM government is trying to snatch the bread from poor out of its enmity with Tehreek-e-Insaf.
He said the federal government has reduced wheat quota whereas the provision of subsidy funds is being evaded. If concrete steps are not taken to supply wheat before the arrival of Ramadan, the provincial government will protest with support of people.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid further said the development projects are stagnant due to the cut in the budget. Unlike G-B, the federal government has increased the funds of other provinces. Out of its enmity, the federal governments wants to victimize economically.
He further said G-B has special constitutional and geographical position. The loyalty of the people here should not be tested and the federal government should abandon the policy of putting G-B at the wall.
He further said that the provincial leadership and cabinet ministers also have met Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Federal Secretary Planning to make them feel the urgency funds to G-B.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan further said that the provincial government of Tehreek-e-Insaf stands with its people and will not compromise on their interests.
The federal government should immediately take concrete steps to provide the due funds to Gilgit-Baltistan and ensure the provision of funds for the supply of wheat before the arrival of Ramadan, said chief minister with reference to Fataullah Khan.
