Nasirabad Resource Management Committee Hunza announces province-wide agitation over mineral issue

Hunza (PR): In a statement issued to the media, the Natural Resource Management Committee Nasirabad Hunza has accused Chief Minister G-B Khalid Khursheed of cheating people of Nasirabad Hunza in an attempt to bring a week-long sit-in to an end on Karakoram Highway by mid of the current year.

According to the statement, the people would not have been hoodwinked through a fake letter signed by the CM if the representatives of Hunza, Col. (Rtd) Ubaidullah Baig, President of Hunza Ismaili Council, Col. (Rtd) Imtiaz and Dilshad Bano had not taken responsibility. Despite taking full responsibility for implementation of promises made by CM, these people have not played any role to resolve the mineral issue, says the satement.

According to the statement, the natural resources committee will announce its action plan very soon. This time, the sit-in will not be held only in Nasirabad, Hunza. It would rather be spread throughout G-B, Pakistan and in front of the Pakistani embassies world wide.

According to the committee, now the people of Nasirabad have taken a position of do or die. Unlike before, the people will not be hoodwinked by any tactic employed by the government, be it through the use of people like Ubaidullah Baig or else. Now the natural resources of Hunza and G-B will not be exploited by the non-local capitalists.

In its statement, the committee has demanded from the Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid to fulfill his promises. The committee has asked the CM G-B to consult the court of people of Gilgit-Baltistan if he is not heard by anyone.

In the statement, appealing to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, it has been said that the people of Nasirabad have started fighting the war of the entire Gilgit-Baltistan. This time the people of Gilgit-Baltistan need to support us to take the struggle to its logical conclusion.

According to the statement, the committee will announce its next course of action on Sunday
