Gilgit (Staff reporter): To ensure better transport facilities, the Gilgit-Baltistan government has bought 8 modern new buses to add to its existing fleet in the first phase. Two of the newly bought buses have already reached Karachi from where they will set off for Gilgit with passengers on the 15th of June.
According to reliable sources, a deal for new vehicles was struck between the GB government and a Chinese reputable auto company, Yutang. The rest of the buses will reach GB via Karachi very soon.
After Eid-ul-azha, 12 modern new buses would be added to the system to enhance the passenger traffic facilities. This will make 20 new buses in total which will definitely be a sigh of relief for passengers who were become fed off with the current pathetic passenger services.
Currently, an estimated 1200 people are associated with NATCO. The addition of modern new buses would solve problems faced by the passengers on one hand and benefit the employees on the other hand.
