Sadia Danish Commemorates International Labour Day, Praises PPP for Advocating Workers’ Rights

Gilgit (PR): In a statement issued to media in connection with International Labour Day, Deputy Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Sadia Danish has highlighted the significance of May 1st in honoring the sacrifices of workers worldwide.

She has emphasized the important role of Pakistani workers, particularly those from Gilgit-Baltistan, as the true strength of the nation, asserting their contribution to the country’s economic development.

According to the statement, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has the credit for elevating the self-respect of workers in Pakistan, particularly through Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s leadership, which galvanized support of working class.

In her statement, she further said that the surge in labor enthusiasm to join Pakistan People’s Party was because of Bhutto’s charisma and principled initiatives.

The statement underscored the PPP government’s commitment to workers’ rights, citing the introduction of the labor policy in 1972 under Bhutto’s leadership.

Sadia Danish has further said the PPP, whether in government or opposition, consistently advocated for workers’ rights and championed their cause at different forums.
