Gilgit (PR): A delegation of the Ismaili Regional Council Gilgit called upon the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gilgit Amir Azam in connection with the peace and order situation of the area.
The Ismaili Regional Council Gilgit congratulated the Mir Azam on taking charge of the Deputy Commissioner Gilgit.
The delegation pledged that the Ismaili Regional Council would take all possible measures to maintain peace and order in the area.
The delegation said it has met the top clerics of the sister communities Agha Rizi-Ud-Din Rizwi and Qazi Nisar in this regard. The delegation expressed its commitment to maintain communication with both religious leaders to maintain sectarian harmony in the region.
During the meeting, the delegation of the Ismaili Council requested for strict legal action against those who spread religious animosity on social media so that the peace of our region can be maintained throughout.
While discussing with the delegation, the Deputy Commissioner Gilgit said all resources will be used for the establishment of peace in Gilgit district. Legal action has been initiated against those who share hateful content on social media, added DC Gilgit.
He assured the delegation that efforts would be made for the development of the region. He emphasized that all possible steps will be taken to protect the life and property of the people and to uphold the rule of the government.
