Health department Gilgit-Baltistan cracks down on sale of substandard medicines

Gilgit (Correspondent): On instructions of secretary health Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B), drug inspector Gilgit cracks down on sale of substandard medicines in Gilgit-Baltistan under section 144.

According to the details, drug Inspector Gilgit Ikramuddin along with the deputy commissioner raided various medical facilities in Hospital Road.

During the raid, the drug inspector sealed two medical stores. Moreover, he warned owners of many other stores to abide by the laws in the sale of medicines.

During his raid, drug inspector Gilgit said strong action will be taken against the owners of medical store if unsanitary, expired, unregistered and prohibited drugs in the stores would be found.

A heavy fine will be imposed by the district administration and the medical store will be sealed by the drug control administration, warned the drug inspector Gilgit.
