Gilgit (Correspondent): The Education Department of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) has initiated departmental crackdown by suspending an elementary school teacher who allegedly engaged in incitement of communal discord on social media.
In a similar move, Gilgit police has launched an investigation today, suspending two members of the reserve force for their involvement in promoting content potentially fueling communal rift on social media.
It is pertinent to note that, based on the recommendations of Apex Committee Meeting, G-B government has decided to crackdown on individuals sharing any content that might lead to communal unrest.
Moreover, the government has directed all departments to enhance surveillance over their employees propagating divisive and harmful material on social media.
Government has cautioned the public steer to clear of any social media content that promotes anti-national sentiments or religious animosity.
According to the government, anti-national elements are active in disseminating harmful misinformation and divisive material on social media platforms. Hence it is crucial to thwart the nefarious purposes of evil elements.
