Shigar (C.R Akbar Shah): According to Shigar police, it has received a complaint of sexual assault on a 52 year woman by unknown accused in Bandu Wazirpur area of Shigar valley.
According to statement issued by PRO SSP office Shigar, police has registered a first investigation report (FIR) against the unknown accused at the written request of family members of the victim.
The police team is conducting a transparent investigation of the incident. Police has taken six suspects into custody, says the statement.
According to the police, the incident is being painted as a gang rape on social media which is not true.
SSP Shigar Haji Abdul Rauf has constituted a five-member special investigation team under the leadership of DSP Muhammad Ilyas to speed up the investigation process and apprehend the accused.
SSP Shigar is supervising all the steps and processes of the investigation, further added the statement.
To confirm the authenticity of the news, Ibex Times also contacted the Coordinator Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Israruddin Israr. According to Israruddin Israr, the news is authentic, However, he is not certain about the age of the victim. It has been declared gang rape by local journalists, further added Israruddin Israr.
