Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Rejects Official Vehicle Details; Calls for Comprehensive Disclosure

Gilgit (Correspondent): The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly has rejected the information provided regarding government officials’ vehicle details.

These vehicle details were presented in the assembly on Tuesday, indicating that there are only 90 official vehicles in use by the bureaucracy. However, the assembly members expressed their dissatisfaction and dismissed the bureaucracy’s response.

The Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly has instructed the relevant department to furnish comprehensive information on all official vehicles in Gilgit-Baltistan, including those used by secretaries, employees of various departments, and those allocated for use in Gilgit-Baltistan House in Islamabad.

Furthermore, the Speaker has directed Haji Rehmat Khaliq, the Excise and Taxation Minister, to present these details in the upcoming Assembly session.

It’s worth noting that two years ago, former opposition member Amjad Advocate had submitted a resolution in the assembly, requesting the disclosure of officials’ vehicle details. The assembly passed the resolution, and the details have now been submitted to the GBLA during Tuesday’s session, after a two-year delay.
