Marina Akhter, daughter of Muhammad Ayub makes her parents, teachers and community proud by becoming the first female graduate with an MBBS degree from Hatoon Valley.
Marina started her educational journey from DJ Middle School, Hatoon. She completed her matriculation from AKHSS Sherqilla and intermediate from AKHSS Hunza. After completing her intermediate, her passion for medicine led her to pursue MBBS from Poonch Medical College, Rawalakot, AJK, affiliated with the University of Health Sciences Lahore.
Marina has completed her house job from the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan CMH Rawalakot, AJK. Talking to Ibex Times, she said the practical work during her house job has further prepared her to contribute effectively in the medical field.

Marina has demonstrated highest level of dedication and diligence while pursuing her goal to become a doctor. This is evident in her academic performance and the commendable grades she received throughout her MBBS journey. Apart from academics, she also garnered awards in sports and remained actively engaged in cocurricular activities.
Marina proudly owes her success to her parents, who according to her have sacrifice their own wishes, desires to educate her to become a doctor and supported her siblings to get education from reputable institutions.
In a message to the student desirous of becoming doctors, she said, “Admission in MBBS program for students of Gilgit-Baltistan not easy because of limited number of seats offered. However, by demonstrating virtues of hard work and belief in yourself, you can surely make way to your desired field of study”.
By becoming the first female MBBS graduate of Hatoon Valley, Marina will inspire more girls to pursue higher education.
