Gilgit-Baltistan Government challenges the decision of Federal Ministry of Interior in Islamabad High Court

Gilgit (Correspondent): The Gilgit-Baltistan government has challenged the notification of the Federal Interior Ministry regarding chief minister’s security in the Islamabad High Court.

In its petition, the G-B government has taken a stand that the Federal Ministry of interior has barred the movement chief minister’s police security to other parts of Pakistan on the grounds of malice.

G-B government has also stated that the federal government has made an attempt to defame the Gilgit-Baltistan Police. Therefore, the court should invalidate the notification of the federal ministry of interior.

It is pertinent to note that in the last few days, the federal ministry of interior informed through a letter the CM and governor of Gilgit-Baltistan cannot take any security including the police with him to any part of the country.

According to the letter, the federal government or the respective provinces will provide security on prior intimation. Rejecting this decision, the G-B government had announced to knock at the doors of court against the decision.
