Gilgit (Correspondent): More than 60 specialist doctors will provide services in ten districts as per the agreement between Gilgit-Baltistan government and Al-Shifa Hospital. The doctors will also be allowed to run their private clinics in government hospitals.
According to the sources, an agreement has been concluded between the Gilgit-Baltistan government and Al-Shifa Hospital. According to the agreement, the specialist doctors of Al-Shifa Hospital will be posted in the hospitals and medical centers of the remote areas of the Gilgit-Baltistan where there is shortage of specialist doctors.
According to the sources, Al-Shifa doctors will be able to run their own private clinics in the premises of government hospitals, 40 percent of the revenue generated from private clinics will go to the hispital. The salaries and other benefits of 60 doctors of Al-Shifa Hospital will be given through the Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Program.
According to the sources, an official team from Al-Shifa Hospital is in Gilgit-Baltistan to assess the lack of facilities and determine areas requiring specialist doctors.
According to the sources, the arrival of these expert doctors will provide the best health facilities in the remote and backward areas of Gilgit-Baltistan for the benefit of common people.
